L+H have been together for ten years (yes, a whole decade!), and somehow, they’ve never had professional photos taken together. When they reached out to me, they were ready to change that, and I was so stoked to be behind the camera for this milestone! These two love exploring the outdoors and whipping up new dishes in the kitchen, so it only made sense to capture their connection somewhere that spoke to their adventurous vibes. Mount Hood National Forest is the perfect mix of scenery and peaceful nature trails—ideal for a couple who loves getting outside but also keeps things relaxed and down-to-earth. Their couple’s outdoor photoshoot was fun and playful, with a few sneaky romantic moments thrown in for good measure.

Mount Hood National Forest is one of those places that feels like it’s straight out of a postcard. Every time I shoot there, it reminds me why it’s a favorite of mine for sessions. Between the towering evergreens, the rushing rivers, and the wide-open meadows, there is a little bit of everything to work with.

For L+H’s shoot, we kicked things off at Wildwood Recreation Site. We explored some peaceful trails and found a few hidden spots by the water. There’s nothing like the sound of a flowing river to set the mood. Afterward, we headed over to Old Salmon River Trail—one of those perfectly scenic places where the light filters through the trees just right, giving everything a tranquil feel. L+H were entirely in their element, while the setting brought out their adventurous, laid-back vibes, and we had so much fun wandering through these stunning forests together.

“It was my and my husband’s first time getting our photos done professionally. We were both obviously new to everything; we didn’t know how to position ourselves. Mattie did such a great job at that!
