A+E came all the way from Michigan for the wild, rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast. I may be biased, but they picked the perfect spot for their elopement in Oregon. With a ceremony at Cape Perpetua, couples portraits at Thor’s Well (hello, epic ocean shots!), and cozy, intimate moments at their Airbnb, their day was a total dream. A+E love the outdoors and adventure—skiing, golfing, exploring new places with their pups—so it just made sense that they’d choose an elopement filled with astonishing landscapes and some Oregon magic. And as always, there was room for some porch dancing and cake cutting at sunset because that’s how you do it when you want to blend adventure and cozy vibes!
Where is Cape Perpetua?
Cape Perpetua is snuggled along the Oregon Coast, just south of the little town of Yachats. It’s part of the Siuslaw National Forest, so you get a fantastic mix of towering old-growth trees, dramatic coastal cliffs, and scenic trails. At the heart of Cape Perpetua is the overlook, 800 feet above sea level—the highest viewpoint accessible by car on the Oregon Coast! From there, you can see miles of coastline, the ocean stretching out endlessly, and even catch a glimpse of migrating whales if you’re lucky. The area also has unique landmarks, like Thor’s Well, where waves surge into a rocky sinkhole, and the Spouting Horn, where water bursts up like a mini geyser on stormy days. Cape Perpetua is the whole package for an elopement: privacy, unbeatable natural beauty, and endless spots for memorable photos.

A+E’s elopement day was an adventure that combined sweeping ocean views, rugged cliffs, and those little cozy moments that weave throughout the day. We kicked things off at their Airbnb, where they shared private vows, taking a quiet moment before the adventure began. Then, it was off to Cape Perpetua Overlook for some epic shots, a short hike that rewarded us with jaw-dropping views over the Pacific. We stopped by Thor’s Well, which was a great touch to their couple portraits. They cut their cake at the Airbnb, shared a first dance on the porch with an ocean view, and popped some champagne. The fog rolled in as the sun set, making for a dreamy finale on the beach, complete with lanterns. Honestly, there’s no better place for those lantern shots than a foggy Oregon beach.
