A+A flew out from Minnesota for their Cannon Beach honeymoon, and honestly? They couldn’t have picked a better spot to kick off married life. There’s just something about the Oregon Coast. Idk, maybe it’s the towering evergreens, salty ocean air, or cliffs that make you stop mid-sentence? We planned a two-hour adventure session that gave them a little bit of everything.

Flow of the Session
Forest Portraits
- Started in the evergreens — moody, magical, and straight out of a fairytale.
- Lots of hugs, slow walks, and laughs.
- Golden light peeking through the trees = instant glow-up.
Overlook Adventure
- Hopped over to a secret overlook with ocean-for-days views.
- Wide shots for the drama, close-ups for the feels.
- Took a beat to just breathe it all in (because Oregon is that good).
Sunset on the Beach
- Down to Indian Beach right as golden hour showed off.
- Shoes off, sand between toes, hand-in-hand walks.
- Silhouettes so romantic they belong in a movie trailer.
Lantern Portraits
- When the sun dipped, the lanterns came out.
- Cozy light + moody skies = magic.
- Wrapped it up with cinematic “end scene” vibes.

Why Ecola & Indian Beach Are Perfect for Cannon Beach Honeymoon Couples Photos
What makes Ecola and Indian Beach such a dream for a honeymoon session is the variety you get without ever feeling like you’re rushing around. In the span of just a couple of hours, you can wander through lush forest trails, soak in dramatic views, and then kick off your shoes to play in the sand. It’s like three sessions in one, but with way less driving and way more time for genuine connection.
This place shows off best at sunset and twilight. The way the light melts through the trees, bounces off the cliffs, and wraps the beach in that golden (and sometimes purple) glow stops me in my tracks every time. Add in a lantern or two at dusk, and suddenly you’ve got it all.

Their Experience in Their Words
“We did a photoshoot with Mattie while we were on our honeymoon to the Oregon coast. We had THE best time taking our photos. Mattie was so friendly, warm, and helped us feel so comfortable throughout the whole shoot. We got our sneak peeks quickly, and they are STUNNING! We can’t wait to see the rest. If you want to embrace some adventure and show your love in a beautiful way, Mattie is your girl!”

Tips for Planning a Cannon Beach Session
If you’re dreaming about your own Cannon Beach session, timing is everything. Late summer through early fall (late August through early September) is perfect. The summer crowds have thinned, the weather usually still plays nice, and you get way more space without an audience.
Golden hour into blue hour is where you get the soft, golden light that melts into dreamy twilight tones. If you want the full experience, consider booking an adventure session. A longer timeline means we can play around without feeling rushed.
