When S+C envisioned their wedding day, they knew they wanted adventure, something unique that felt like them. So, they strapped on snowshoes, embraced the winter wonderland, and spent the day laughing, playing, and soaking in every second of their Mt. Hood elopement. They went all in—no hesitations. Their excitement was contagious, from trekking through the snow to building a tiny snowman (which we all agreed had character). And even though the mountain decided to be a little shy that day, S+C’s energy more than made up for it.

Snowshoeing & First Look + Vows

Wandering into the wilderness together is always magical—especially when that wilderness is covered in fresh, powdery snow. We kicked off S+C’s Mt. Hood elopement by strapping on snowshoes (yes, I bring those!) and setting off into White River West Sno-Park‘s quiet, snow-covered terrain. If you’ve never done a first look in a winter wonderland, I highly recommend it.

After S+C’s first look, we wandered to a secluded spot where they exchanged vows, surrounded by towering trees, crisp mountain air, and quiet nature.

(Psst: If this sounds like your kind of wedding day, I come fully equipped with snowshoes and all the winter elopement know-how. Just saying.)

Hot Cocoa & Playing in the Snow

After sealing the deal, it was time for the next most important part of the day: hot cocoa and playtime. Because let’s be honest—if you’re going to elope in the snow, you might as well go all in.

We wandered until we found the perfect little nook, where I whipped out my trusty camp stove for some rich, chocolatey goodness. Yes, I come prepared like an elopement-loving backcountry barista. And if you’re now thinking, “Wait, I can have a snowshoe elopement with hot cocoa included?”—the answer is yes, yes you can. And I can make it happen for you! Sipping hot cocoa in the middle of a snowy adventure makes it taste ten times better. Once sufficiently warmed up, S+C did what any fun-loving couple should do on their wedding day: they played.

Wrapping Up a Mt Hood Elopement Adventure

As our adventure wrapped up, S+C set off for a well-earned brewery lunch for a celebratory beer and warm food. Their entire day was a perfect reminder that elopements don’t have to fit into a box. Their Mt. Hood elopement was everything an elopement should be: fun, intimate, and utterly true to who they are.
